Jake Wilson is a Deputy US Marshal with the Special Operations Group. His tactical unit is on call twenty-four hours a day to respond to emergency situations and security needs anywhere in the United States and its territories. It is a response team capable of taking on the duties of any other US Marshals service. Despite being on call 24/7 and 365, Jake also works full-time in the Eastern District office of New York. He's got an apartment in Brooklyn, a blue Great Dane named Hilda, and a full shelf of SLR cameras that don't get enough use.
Nothing is known about Jake's biological parents. He was adopted from an overseas orphanage when he was two years old. His mother and father -- Annie and Henry -- have an apartment in Manhattan. Henry had a stroke in 2007 and Annie has been his caretaker since. Jake has two older sisters and one younger brother, and he's fiercely protective of all of them. A year ago his eldest sister became the target of a violent attack by a high-ranking figure in an organized crime unit Jake's colleague was seeking to apprehend. Though she has almost fully recovered, Jake still holds a lot of regret and his relationship with his sister remains strained.
He's not married and he's not looking to be. Jake tends to hold people at an arm's length, despite being known as very friendly and personable.
